09.12.2009 The vaccination is available to all persons who have permanently or temporarily resided in Slovenia for at least three months. As a rule, such persons have been covered by compulsory health insurance scheme, too. Vaccination is not available to persons not residing in Slovenia.

09.12.2009 We protect ourselves against pandemic influenza through responsible conduct, in particular by following hygienic practices when sneezing and coughing, by washing hands, and by staying at home if we fall ill. However, the most effective is protection through vaccination. Vaccination is reasonable for everybody, and particularly for those people who have an increased risk of a more difficult course of illness. In the coming weeks, a rise in the number of ill people is expected.

29.10.2009 Vaccination is the most efficient method of protection against pandemic influenza, which is expected to spread more intensively among Slovene population in the forthcoming months. Vaccination for chronic patients will commence in November and will be organised by vaccination centres. All people who wish to do so will receive the vaccination. Priority groups for the vaccination are health workers and chronic patients. The vaccination is voluntary and the vaccine itself will be free of charge for individuals, the vaccine implementation will cost 7 Euros. Researches show that the vaccine is effective and safe.
